Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to BountyHub. By accessing or using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our website.

Definitions

  • "BountyHub" refers to our website and the services we provide.

  • "User" refers to anyone who accesses or uses BountyHub.

  • "Bounty Creator" refers to users who place bounties on GitHub issues.

  • "Bounty Hunter" refers to users who solve bounties by submitting pull requests.

Use of the Website

  • Eligibility:You must be at least 13 years old to use BountyHub. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian to use our services.

  • Account:You must create an account to use certain features of BountyHub. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

Placing Bounties

  • Fees:Bounty creators agree to pay an additional 10% fee on top of the bounty amount. For example, if the bounty is $100, the total cost will be $110 (transaction fees and taxes may apply).

  • Refunds:If no claim is made on a bounty or all claims are rejected, the bounty creator can retract the bounty and be refunded the bounty amount, excluding the platform and transaction fees.

  • Responsibilities:Bounty creators must ensure that the issues they post are legitimate and clearly defined.

Solving Bounties

  • Claims: Bounty hunterss must submit a URL of a pull request that solves the bounty. If the pull request is not merged, hunters must wait until it is merged to refresh the claim.

  • Payment: Once a pull request is merged and the bounty creator accepts the claim, the hunter will receive the full bounty amount minus any transaction fees.

  • Disputes: If the bounty creator rejects a claim that has a merged pull request, the bounty hunter can create a dispute. Disputes will be manually verified by BountyHub to determine if the pull request solves the bounty, then all parties must communicate via the integrated chat.

Disputes and Resolution

  • Process: Disputes created involve a chat between all parties, then the pull request might be reviewed manually by bountyhub. BountyHub will make the final decision on whether a claim is valid.

  • Binding Decision: All decisions made by BountyHub regarding disputes are final and binding.

Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content provided by BountyHub, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of BountyHub or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

  • License: BountyHub grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the website for its intended purposes.

Prohibited Activities

Users are prohibited from:

  • Violating any local, national, or international law.
  • Posting or transmitting any false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Interfering with the operation of BountyHub or its services.
  • Engaging in any activity that could harm BountyHub or its users.

Termination

  • Suspension or Termination: BountyHub reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, for conduct that BountyHub believes violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users or the business interests of BountyHub.

  • Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use BountyHub will immediately cease. All provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BountyHub shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the website.
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our website.

Disclaimer of Warranties

BountyHub is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BountyHub disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Changes to the Terms of Service

BountyHub reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms of Service at any time. If the changes are significant, we will notify you via email or by posting a notice on the website. Your continued use of the website after the changes have been made will constitute your acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which BountyHub operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
